THE Most Dope Wrestler of the Week (8/2/15)

If it’s Sunday then you know it’s time to find out who THE Most Dope Wrestler of the Week was! As always, I watch a lot of wrestling so I can tell YOU who the raddest of the rad was. The timeframe goes from Sunday through Saturday, so a night of NJPW G1 through ROH TV.

Let’s get right to it!

21. The Miz (RAW)

“Haha. Fuck you, Miz.” is something I say every week and it’s great.

20. Kevin Owens (RAW/NXT)

The stalwart of this list during the first half of the year is back!

19. Michael Elgin (NJPW G1 Climax)

“Meaty” is absolutely killing it over in NJPW. ELLLLLGIIIIIIIN!!!

18. Cage (Lucha Underground)

The Swolverine is always super rad. This past week was no different in his match with The Mack!

17. New Day (RAW)

Consistently one of the most entertaining parts in any WWE produced show. What an amazing turnaround.

16. Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW G1 Climax)

Like many of you, I kinda went from “Oh, he’s good” to “Oh, he might be the best wrestler of the planet” during the G1.

15. Becky Lynch & Charlotte (RAW)

STEREO KIP-UPS!! No, it doesn’t take much to make me happy. You should know this by now.

14. Shinsuke Nakamura (NJPW G1 Climax)

Oh, thank the wrestling gods that Nakamura was able to come back!!

13. AJ Styles (NJPW G1 Climax)

Killed Doc Gallows dead with the Bloody Sunday. Again, doesn’t take much to make me happy.

12. The Mack (Lucha Underground)

“Stone Cold” Willie Mack had me up and cheering!

11. Seth Rollins (RAW)

10. Tomohiro Ishii (NJPW G1 Climax)

This man is so amazing, guys. It’s a true shame that I first heard of him this year.

9. Sasha Banks (RAW)

The GOAT was in very good form this week against Paige. A true inspiration.

8. Toru Yano (NJPW G1 Climax)

If you don’t dig Yano, I don’t know what to tell you; still looks beat to hell after the Tenzan match.

7. John Cena (RAW)

Guys, Seth Rollins broke THE FUCK out of his nose. AND he finished the match like the MAN he is.

6. Tetsuya Naito (NJPW G1 Climax)

My favorite thing about Naito’s evolution is that he went from a babyface that we liked to a guy who didn’t give a shit to, “Fuck you all, I’m wearing a skeleton mask now.” Brilliant.

5. Gable and Jordan (NXT)

I’m not sure about Jordan, tbh, but I FUCKING LOVE CHAD GABLE!

4. Drago (Lucha Underground)

His very existence is dope…and here he is on THE List!

3. Cesaro (RAW)

The Swiss Superman motto basically is “Anything you can do, I can do better” and he has been proving it every single week.

2. Katsuyori Shibata (NJPW G1 Climax)

The epitome of badass. Like if look it up in the dictionary, you get a kick to the chest for not knowing that Shibata is the definition of badass. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

1. Kota Ibushi (NJPW G1 Climax)

For me, the asskicking dreamboat look over the MVP of the G1 from Tanahashi; his match with Shibata is a MUST WATCH.

There you go! He’s been on THE List many times before and has been very high on it even, but this week is the week in which Ibushi takes home the win!

Don’t agree? Let me know in the comments!

Be sure to check in next week to see if Ibushi can defend the throne or if we’ll have a NEW Most Dope Wrestler of the Week!

  1. OK Pow says:

Ibushi is Wrestler of the Year 2015 no doubt.
