Cheese!

Trying out a new format both out of curiosity and necessity (explained inside). Tonight, I make five specific points for this week’s Monday Night RAW: Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, the Divas, and Johnny Ace are all covered! Let me know what you think!

Yeah, I Couldn't Think of Anything Better...

Two shows in one report! Aren’t you lucky? Being that I couldn’t watch a good chunk of RAW as it aired and that Smackdown aired live the following night, I combine both in one Super Duper Four Eyed Report! Don’t worry, I call it “quick thoughts” for a reason.

And here we go!

Johnny Ace welcomes the crowd to Survivor Series. It’s the 25th anniversary of the event and it’s also Johnny’s tenth anniversary with the company. Congrats Johnny! On with the matches!

US Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. John Morrison

Winner and STILL US Champion: Dolph Ziggler (pinfall after the Zig Zag). Very good opener!

Dolph talks trash much to the crowd, who have been chanting for Zack Ryder during the match. This brings out Ryder to a BIG reaction! Rough Ryder! Local kid gets to celebrate with the crowd!

Lumberjill Divas Championship Match: Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Eve Torres

Winner and STILL Divas Champion: Beth Phoenix (pinfall after the Glam Slam off the top rope!).

David Otunga (with thermos) informs CM Punk that Johnny Ace said that Punk should apologize to Michael Cole for the events on RAW. Punk will think about it.

The Rock addresses MSG! His opening bit is really good. I can now officially welcome you back, Rocky. He treats Miz and Truth as afterthoughts…because they are in WWE Land. Then he talks trash to Cena…as one does. He sings “New York, New York” with the crowd. Suck up. I kid. IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!

Goodness that went on for a long while.

Team Barrett vs. Team Orton

Dolph yells “Oh, I’m following me!” Cody Rhodes has knee pads now. Sin Cara is wearing the white costume.

Elimination #1: Dolph pinned by Orton after the RKO. Well, okay then.

Orton 5, Barrett 4.

Elimination #2: Sin Cara by countout (I think). Maybe by injury after the sommersault plancha. I dunno. Either way, he’s gone.

Tied up, 4-on-4.

Elimination #3: Mason Ryan by Cody after the Cross Rhodes. The crowd did not like Ryan and cheered the elimination.

Barrett 4, Orton 3.

Elimination #4: Kofi by Barrett after Wasteland.

Barrett 4, orton 2.

Elimination #5: Sheamus via DQ after not heeding the ref’s five count. Weak. Sauce.

Barrett 4, Orton 1.

Elimination #6: Jack Swagger by Orton after Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick.

Barrett 3, Orton 1.

Elimination #7: Hunico after Orton hits the RKO.

Barrett 2, Orton 1.

Elimination #8: Orton after Wasteland.

Winners: Team Orton (Survivors Barrett and Rhodes).

So far so good. I’m liking this PPV.

The ring crew is reinforcing the ring with more beams and whatnot. Or so they say, it’s not like I can actually tell. Nice touch.

World Championship: Mark Henry (c) vs. The Big Show

Big Show comes out with taped fists. He approves of the ring reinforcement.

Henry initially gets cheered, so he stalls to get heel heat. Unfortunately, they lost the crowd for the majority of the match in the process.

Big Show goes off the top rope with an elbow drop. You read that right.

Winner: The Big Show via DQ (Low Blow by Henry).

Henry attacks after the bell. Tries to put Show back into the Hall of Pain, but Show moves out of the way! Berserk Punch! Show with a legdrop onto a chair wrapped around Henry’s leg!

WWE Championship: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. CM Punk

After all the heel champions came out second, Del Rio naturally comes out before Punk. Well, they almost got them all right.

Punk gets The Fink to introduce him! Howard Finkel chant! Hell yes! That excuses Punk coming out after ADR. Nice surprise.

Announced by The Fink (*clears throat*) And NEEEEEW WWE Champion: CM Punk! (Submission to the Anaconda Vice).

Very good match once they started going. Punk celebrates with a dive into the crowd!

John Cena and The Rock vs. The Awesome Truth

For those keeping track, Cena comes out before the Rock…and he’s booed. Pretty damn loudly initially. The Rocks gets the reaction you would expect: VERY LOUD.

The Rock looks damn good. Miz and Truth are definitely playing a hand into that.

Winners: John Cena and The Rock (Rocks wins Miz after the People’s Elbow)

The Super Friends have a pose down. Rock gets cheered while Cena gets booed. Cena eventually gets tired of the mocking, but when he tries to walk away, Rock turns him and hits the Rock Bottom! Rock celebrates with MSG as Cena walks to the back looking rather upset.

Took much longer to setup than it was to type. Kinda lame ending to an otherwise pretty damn good show, but you don’t care about that here.

Fade to black.

Thanks for joining us!
