THE Most Dope Wrestler of the Week (6/7/15)

Welcome back, boys and girls! As you all by now this is THE definitive place to find out who the dopest wrestlers of the past week were. Keep in mind, I can only go based off what I actually saw. This past week goes from Elimination Chamber to ROH TV. Now, ROH is on Destination America, but I still watch new episodes on Saturday. Also, you will find NJPW on here, but it’s not the finals of the Best of Super Juniors. That will be reserved for next week. Instead, it’s the show prior to the finals.

There are a few firsts in this week’s edition of THE List. Can you spot them all?

Here we go!

24. Rocky Romero (NJPW BOSJ)

Rocky Romero is super rad and I think that’s something just about all of us tend to forget.

23. Roman Reigns (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

Good Bro Roman is my new favorite version of Roman Reigns.

22. Dalton Castle (ROH TV)

I mean, it’s simple: if Castle is on TV, expect to see him on THE List.

21. David Finlay (NJPW BOSJ)

A chip right off the ol’ block. Big things ahead for Baby Finlay.

20. Cage (Lucha Underground)

Very cool locker room brawl with The Mack.

19. Seth Rollins (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

Killer promo on SmackDown. THE heel of the present and of the future.

18. Kurt Angle (Impact Wrestling)

Leader of the American chapter of the OAFAVD. I love the OAFAVD.

17. Barbaro Cavernario (NJPW BOSJ)

16. Dean Ambrose (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

This is the best they’ve used Ambrose during his entire singles run and it’s not even close. Save Us Ambrose!

15. Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW BOSJ)

Tanahashi is legit going to murder Yano in the very near future. One of the best feuds going that no one is really talking about.

14. The Miz (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

If you tell me you didn’t miss The Miz, I’m going to call you a liar…to your face, brother.

13. Jakob Austin Young (High Octane)

The new No Limits Champion. FSW better be on notice as things will never be the same again.

12. Katsuyori Shibata (NJPW BOSJ)

Elbowed YOSHI-HASHI right in the face because the Dragonball character dared to breakup a submission. Poor YOSHI-HASHI.

11. Rockstar Spud (Impact Wrestling)

Very few people plays the fiery underdog as good as Spud. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, all of his doubts and fears. Greatness.

10. Rusev (RAW/SmackDown)

Look, I know this is his own doing and he’s a prick, but I kinda want to buy the guy a beer still.

9. Jushin “Thunder” Liger (ROH TV)

Liger posing with Castle’s man servants is what professional wrestling is all about.

8. Triple H (RAW)

“First of all, shut up.” You tell those marks, Haitch!

7. Nick Jackson (NJPW BOSJ)

Gets to show off just how douchey he can be with Matt not being around. This is a compliment; plus he’s been riding in on Cody Hall’s shoulders!

6. John Cena (Elimination Chamber/RAW)

Awesome stuff with Owens. ’nuff said.

5. Phil Baroni (High Octane)

I can appreciate a former MMA fighter stomping an opponent after he defeats them for “fuck you, that’s why” reasons.

4. EC3 (Impact Wrestling)

Again, the very best thing about TNA right now. I can’t get enough of this guy.

3. Yohei Komatsu (NJPW BOSJ)

He might have had zero points in the BOSJ tournament, but I think we can all agree that he won all of our hearts.

2. Titus O’Neil (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

Millions of years from now, alien astronomers are going to get a reading on their instruments and it’s going to be me screaming, “KILL THEM, TITUS!”

1. Kevin Owens (Elimination Chamber/RAW/SmackDown)

What a remarkable run for Owens; not only in WWE, but here on THE List!

And there it is! Congrats to Kevin Owens for being THE Most Dope Wrestler of the Week!

Again, there were several firsts this week. Some are pretty obvious, others maybe not so much. Did you catch them? Let me know in the comments below!

Make sure to check in next week to see who the raddest of the rad in pro wrestling was!

Also, be on the look out as I should have an article popping up here sometime this week (knock on wood) and I’ll have some super exciting news to let you all in on in the very near future! Stay tuned!
